Interact has begun! We had a fantastic first week worshipping God with drums! Thank you to Zac Smith for his leadership and for all of the fabulous college students and parents that came to participate with our precious children.
If you haven't signed your children up, it's not too late. Grab a registration form this week and get them plugged in!
This Wednesday, October 13, we'll be worshipping God with color and image through painting! If you are interested in helping, give Sara a call 914-8024.

As we are settling into our new curriculum, Faithweaver, we are encouraged by the stories we are hearing about the children's response to the stories, conversations parents are having as a result of the take home sheets, and the general excitement of being a part of the children's ministry! If you have something to share, please do!! Email to share your story and encourage our body!

Here is an email we received this week--and a picture of of God's little disciples! Thank you for sharing, Sandi!

We love the new curriculum! We love knowing what Christian is learning each week. We keep our lesson review & crafts at the kitchen table and talk about them all week. Although he can barely pronounce the word "decisions" he knows what it means to make good ones! Last Sunday I started to read his memory verse aloud and he immediately cut me off and finished reciting it at the top of his voice! How beautiful it is to hear the words of our LORD spoken by my child's lips.

I am sending a huge "thank you" to teachers & all those who have a hand in bringing so many wonderful changes to the children's ministry these past few months!!

A Grateful Mom,
Sandi Dittmer

I think it would be accurate reporting to say that our Kick Off for SVCC Children's Ministry was a total success today! The excitement of the children was contagious and the adults couldn't help but enjoy themselves when surrounded by laughter and free access to the snow cone truck! Our desire was to generate energy that would send us enthusiastically into a new year of learning about and living for God in our children's ministry. Well, look at a few of the pictures and judge for yourself, but I'd say, "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

This is a picture of the Children's Ministry GIVING TREE!

You can see it up close and personal this week in the sanctuary at SVCC! We are inviting everyone to take a star--or two, or three, or four, and help make our wishes come true by giving the supplies we need for the curriculum we'll be using in our children's classes beginning August 15!

We are very excited about the launch of the new curriculum, FaithWeaver and are working feverishly to make sure that everything is ready for the fabulous folks that volunteer to teach and our precious children!

If you want to help in any way, just say so, and we'll put you to work!

Paint Party!

Thank you to everyone who has come out to help put a little color on the walls of our children's rooms! We have gotten the base coat finished in all three rooms and are now working on fixtures, touch ups, and the fun part...murals and artistic accents!! If you want to help, it's not too late! Give Sara a call 871-4425 to see what you can do!!

The Allen's were busy working on cabinets while baby Jude devoured a Little Ceasar's pizza and admired his parents prowess with a paint brush from his high chair.
Shades Valley Parents,

The Children’s Ministry Team has met 4 times in 3 months and we have some exciting developments to share with you! After 2 meetings of gathering feedback and casting vision, the team began crafting a rhythm for children’s ministry and researching new possibilities for curriculum. Area churches were contacted, curriculum specialists were consulted and samples were reviewed in an effort to identify a curriculum that would meet our needs as a church and energize our children.
After much thought and prayer, the Children’s Ministry Team chose FaithWeaver by Group. The content and expense of Faithweaver was presented to SLT on June 10 and was unanimously approved! The curriculum has now been purchased and is on the way! Here are a few of the reasons the Children’s Ministry Team is excited about Faithweaver:

· Every child from 2 years old-6th grade will be learning about the same Bible story and
“Key point” each week
· FaithWeaver will take our children through the entire Bible in 3 years
· FaithWeaver makes it easy to communicate with our parents and congregation as a
whole regarding what our children are learning
· FaithWeaver is teacher-friendly.

In addition to the new curriculum, we are planning some colorful improvements in the classrooms and have some fun activities on the calendar for the fall. Please make a note of the following dates and consider getting yourself and your children involved in SVCC Children’s Ministry!
